Mattie Shearer

2022: Saw action in seven games as a freshman … Dished one assist in her Blue Devil debut against Gardner-Webb (2/11/22). Added two draw controls and two caused turnovers.


Prior to Duke: An all-conference and all-state selection out of Western Albemarle High School.

 

Registered 80 goals and 52 assists during her final high school campaign. Wrapped up her high school career with 185 goals and 121 assists.

 

Part of the 2021 Yellow Jackets South team along with the 2021 Senior Under Armour All-American game, 2019 Under Armour All-American game, the 2019 DC Highlight team, and the 2017 and 2018 High School Girls National Team.

 

Comes from a strong lacrosse background as her mom, Colleen, spent 19 years on the Virginia women's lacrosse team staff as an assistant and associate head coach. Colleen also spent time at Bridgewater (2016-17), James Madison (2017-18), and Richmond (2018-20). 

 

Outside of lacrosse, Shearer was a four-year letter winner on the basketball team and helped her team finish runner-up at the 2018 state championship, was on the honor roll throughout high school and earned a 4.0 GPA.
