Hunter grew up locally in Charlottesville, Virginia and is a graduate from Albemarle High School.

 

Hunter was a two-sport athlete and was a four-year letter winner in Football and Lacrosse at Randolph-Macon College. In Football he was a captain and a 1st Team all ODAC as a quarterback. For lacrosse, he was a 2-time captain, 1st Team All ODAC midfielder and 3rd Team Inside Lacrosse Preseason All American. At the conclusion of his time at Randolph-Macon, Hunter was the recipient of the George P. Compton Award, which is presented to the top senior male student-athlete for outstanding athletic accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership and sportsmanship.

 

After Graduating from Randolph-Macon in 2003, Hunter was a Varsity Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Albemarle High School (2004-2005), Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Western Albemarle (2006-2008), Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach at St. Anne’s Belfield School (2009-2019) and now coaches the St. Anne’s Belfield Boy's Middle School lacrosse team.
