Nina Garfinkel is a UVA Lacrosse alum who finished playing in 2023 and is currently getting her Master’s in school counseling. She is originally from San Francisco, CA but went to Taft Boarding School in CT to get a different high school experience and better exposure to high-level lacrosse. At Taft, she played four years at the varsity level and was named captain for her senior season. Nina also took up field hockey in high school and loved playing both sports throughout her four years.

Entering UVA in the fall of 2017, Nina played through the first year of graduate school, finishing up her career in the spring of 2023. While on the team, she played in 60 games as a defender, starting in over 40 of them. Nina was named to the All-ACC Academic Team and won The Coaches Award for Excellence.

Nina is finishing her Master’s degree in School Counseling at the School of Education and Human Development at UVA. She currently works in a high school as a counselor while attending classes. During the past six summers, Nina has coached for a summer lacrosse camp in CT, various clubs in her area, and private sessions.

Nina has always loved lacrosse and enjoys helping others find their own enjoyment in the game. She is excited to work with the 2028 team and help lead them through a fun and competitive season.
