Coach 2027

Meg's lacrosse journey began at St. Anne's-Belfield High School, where she lettered for four remarkable years. Demonstrating leadership and skill, she captained the team during her junior and senior years. Graduating in 1997, Meg earned the prestigious title of Central Virginia Female Player of the Year, marking the beginning of her illustrious career. Transitioning to collegiate play at the University of Maryland, Meg continued to excel, securing two ACC Championships and an impressive four National Championships from 1998 to 2001, showcasing her prowess on defense.


During her summers, Meg immersed herself in the world of lacrosse, working tirelessly at various camps including those at Maryland and UVA, as well as STAB lacrosse camps and local Seminole league activities. Additionally, she devoted her time to individual lacrosse training sessions and employment at Gold's Gym, further enriching her understanding of the sport and its community.


Graduating in 2001 with a degree in Communication/Marketing, Meg's dedication to lacrosse extended beyond her playing years. She served as a Volunteer Assistant in the fall of 2001 and earned a place on the U.S. National Team from 1999 to 2001, showcasing her midfield skills on an international stage.


Meg's coaching journey began in earnest after her playing days. She gained valuable experience as an Assistant Coach for varsity lacrosse at STAB in 2002 before moving to Durham Academy in 2003, where her exceptional coaching abilities earned her the title of Conference Coach of the Year. From 2004 to 2006, Meg served as the Head Coach for the varsity team at The Covenant School, leaving a lasting impact on the program.


In the club scene, Meg's influence continued to grow. She coached with Geronimo Elite in Richmond from 2003 to 2006 before taking on the role of Head Coach for the local CV Lax Club in 2010-2011. Her tenure with Cav Lax included coaching the 2024's from 2016 to 2018 and the 2027's from 2019 to the present, further shaping the future of lacrosse talent.


Meg's contributions to the lacrosse community extend beyond the field. As a Virginia Chapter member of the U.S. Hall of Fame, she continues to inspire and lead. In her leisure time, Meg enjoys pursuing her passion for photography and cherishing moments with her husband, AJ Kincel, a Duke Men's lacrosse goalie standout, and their four children. Professionally, she excels as an Advertising Executive at the local Newsweekly 'The Hook', further demonstrating her multifaceted talents and commitment to excellence.
